The adventure started at 1:30 pm. After some delays, we ended up packing our bags into the vans and took off around 2:00 pm.
About two hours later we arrived in the heart of Hartford. The drive flew by thanks to the snacks provided by MB and the exploration of Connecticut's texting and driving laws.
Once we got all settled in, dinner was at the Bear's BBQ. If you ever get a chance, strongly recommended. Imagine a Subway multiplied by a Texas Roadhouse and boom, Bear's BBQ. The pulled pork is incredible, but they also have a killer deal on a whole chicken for $12 (plus tax), but I digress.
From there, we moved on and selected our programs for the day. It seems like there are a good amount of opportunities which I am amped to capitalize on over the course of this weekend.
With that being wrapped up at 7:00 pm and our next event not starting until 9:00 pm, Jake and I had a chance to go catch a quick lift while MB put some work in on the treadmill.
Next was the keynote speaker. Michelle Guobadia lit up the room. With some quick-witted jokes and an extensive amount of pop culture references, Michelle inspired me and got me phired up for this NGLA conference!
Signing off,
Tristen Merchant
