Our first day at NGLA was fairly uneventful aside from the parking debacle. I got some studying done on the drive down, and upon arrival, we ventured through the streets of Hartford to Subway. After we returned to the Mariott, we convened and discussed which sessions each BSU representative will attend over the next two days. Despite our overt fatigue, we carried on and met with the entire Greek community for two hours of ice breakers. It was refreshing to see some original ideas that can be used in the future by all of our organizations and most importantly, Greek life as a whole.
During the ice breakers I actually met three Phi Kaps from WPI. I found it eerily coincidental that we were similar not only personality/compatibility wise but also in the positions we each held. Matt is here representing Phi Kap as our President, which is the same case for Anthony, WPI's President. Frank is an executive board member for Phi Kap at WPI, and Big Dan is an executive board member on IFC. In addition, Tony and I are the social chairs of our chapters. We all had a great time hanging out and getting to know each other tonight. I'm looking forward to meeting more Greeks tomorrow as much as I look forward to garnering valuable information in my educational sessions.
